From 06-01-2020 to 06-28-2020 I had the opportunity to serve as the artist-in-residence at Magpie Springs, a permaculture farm near Dillon, MT. The residency is hosted by Nolan Salix, a professor of painting at the University of Montana Western, and his wife Jessie Slaix, an ecologist for the US Forest Service. I chose to create a series of graphite drawings that reflect the delicate ecological relationships between the humans, flora, and fauna that inhabit southeastern Montana.
